Today we honor, Bayard Rustin and A. Philip Randolph who were two of the key organizers of the 1963 March on Washington. On August 28, 1963, over 250,000 marchers assembled at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC for the largest protest march ever seen by the capitol city. Housing, jobs, and education were the focuses of the protest. Dr. Martin Luther King stirred the nation to its feet when he delivered his memorable speech, "I Have A Dream at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, which was broadcast live on television throughout the country.
