First recorded in 1965. I could not find it on Utube so posted it! The video is various pics found the net. Her voice is softer here so it may be an even older version.

  • Was this an original m.faithfull track or a rework of an older song?Never heard it before.

  • Yes, British release only on the Decca label (F12443, Rel: 8th Jul 1966). "I'd Like To Dial Your Number" was actually the B side, the A side was "Counting". a track I've never heard!

This song and the excellent "Oh Look Around You" were both written by Marianne in '64/'65

  • 'counting'is on the greatest hits collection'marianne faithfulls greatest'album.Released in 1994,re-realesed 2006.However,it does not include many of her better songs.

  • I forgot to mention that "I'd Like to Dial Your Number" is on the CD simply titled "Marianne Faithfull" on the London record label (part of Decca) No: 820 630 -2

Has 20 tracks most of here early stuff, good quality as mot of it has been remastered. I think it was released in 1989.

  • @crazedwitch2 She did write this??

  • @DancesWithJoy Yes, Marianne is credited as writing this song. Also "Oh Look Around You" which I like more.

  • she used to be an angel when she was young.

    now she's like the queen..

  • It is sad that this great song which she wrote herself and sings sweetly was a flop when released in 1965. I see from the stats that it has been favorited 135 times, shows it is not just me who love it!!!

  • I look at her face, and well...to me she is just so incredibly beautiful and innocent and all that happened her that seems to happen in the world to women like that, like myself...the ruining, the pain and she was so very innocent and lovely.

  • She was my ideal woman in the '60s. In the late '70s it was Deborah Harry:)

  • @2xtrbo No, he did not.

  • A lucky jew found her at the convent and had the first "casting couch" with her.

  • Great song (never heard of it before), great photo montage. What's not to like -- and what more can one say except thanks for creating and posting this.

  • this...is perfect.

  • @StellaMurano
