@wwwaaarrrggghhh Well, I've yet to uncover a single peice of evidence. First of all, by 1995, all lighthouses were automated, so the exchange wouldn't have taken place. Secondly, this joke is very very old and retold in several different forms (i.e. changing the name of the ship and the location).
