From the studio that brought you "Shrek," "Madagascar" and "Kung Fu Panda" comes "How to Train Your Dragon." Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, and based on the book by Cressida Cowell, the action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesnt exactly fit in with his tribes longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccups world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.

  • ... being Swedish doesn't give me much of an advantage to understanding Finnish... ugh i actually understood like 5 words... now i wanna learn Finnish, it's bad ass.

  • @adamanddustinh Hej på dig, nice try! Finnish must be one of the most difficult language in the world. Med vänlig hälsning...

  • What language is this?

  • @Farfeb It's Finnish.

  • Holy crap, I literally bounced up and in my seat when I saw this. Makes me wanna see it in Finnish SO BAD. I wish I'd gone to Finland earlier this year, when it was still out in theaters. D: I REALLY want to hear all of the character's voices, especially Astrid's...

By the way, the last line Hiccup (whose Finnish voice is SO CUTE. <3) has is actually more like, "Hey Gobber, let [the fire] burn!" There's not really a straight translation, but that's a literal one. C:

  • @imprefectlin Thanks for your nice comments! Wellcome to Finland - to movies and see the sights : )

  • You wanna how it is?

    Here:

Gobber: Alright then Vikings. Your job is to make popcorns in pot to pop out. Ready?

    Snotlout: Yeah.

Gobber: Well, let's make it more harder. Move Move. The Viking must be storng, because dragos are more strongers. You must be agile and most of it you must be smart.

    Hiccup: Hey Gobber. Here.

    ....

Hiccup: Thanks Gobber. Now it needs more spices

  • english please?!?! looks funny

  • Here is the name for the English one for all the people who got confused with the title, (like me!) "How To Train Your Dragon Popcorn Ad - English"

  • Lol, I didn't read the whole title and was expecting English...Then I thought this was like really thick Viking accent...Hahah, sorry! :3

  • Hiccup's a greedy bastard

  • Hiccup walks away with the popcorn at the end like: Yeah, bitches

  • what is he saying

  • Hiccup: Thanks Gobber! Needs a little butter :P

  • English translation (cont'd):

Announcer: This theater reminds you, non-flammable concessions are available in the lobby. "How to Train Your Dragon" reminds you to enjoy the show.

Hiccup: Thank you, Gobber. Needs a little butter.

  • Here is my English translation of that commercial:

Gobber: All right Vikings, your goal is to get the popcorn in the cauldron pot. Sound easy?

    Snotlout: Yeah.

Gobber: Well, let's put a few obstacles in your way. Go, go, go! Being a Viking means you've got to be tough...'cause dragons are tougher. You'll need to be agile, but most of all, you'll need to be smart.

    Hiccup: Hey, Gobber! Think fast!
