6th track of the last Samhain album "Final Descent", only on the re-release from 2001 on EvilivE/E-Magine records. The Plan 9/Caroline version has the "Unholy Passion" EP as the B-side. "Final Descent" was planned to be released as "Samhain Grim" in 1988, but it never happened.
This song was originally written for "Samhain Grim" but ended up on the first Danzig album.

  • hay honk did you hear the track from his new ablum on a wicked night yet its on here

  • @dannydanzig666 Yes and I also checked out The Revengeful already.

  • Thanx for the post Honk. Question tho... was this done with London May & Damien? or was this Glenn Eerie and the drum machine. i know this was released in 01, but when did they record it. thanx

  • This song was recorded september '86 with London May. I don't really know who played guitar on this recording, could be John Christ, but it's not Damien, he left the band in july '86.

  • Now you have to take my life, I like the Danzig version better.

  • I prefer Samhain to the misfits or Danzig. It had this inbetween-ness to it. It was less raucus than misfits, but more raw and energetic than Danzig. Give me a negative if you wish, but I get bored and sleepy with most of his newer stuff. Of course, when I was a teenager I had a girlfriend who shoved Samhain, ruts, and Slayer down my throat like I was a starving famine victim. Coolest record I ever heard was a Samhain concert bootleg vinyl that I'll probably never hear again. Miss that record...

  • I like both versions. This one is more punky and raw. The danzig version is clean.

  • @ravner1976 Are you fucking with me? My comment was serious. (and also true)

  • @creepychris11 ZEPPLIN?!?!?? you gotta be kidding... i always thought it was Rod Stewart. think about it.

  • @vitslog It's not missing. That intro is just the chorus riff. They stole it from zeppelin (can't think of the song right now) who probably stole it from some poor old blues guy. That's why it has a "bluesy twang" to it. Everyone steals. As a songwriter... it's fucking depressing.

  • i bet james hetfield was stoked to do background vocals for danzig 1

  • @yellojeeper I was going to say the same thing.

  • i personally like this version better, but that's just my opinion. the danzig one rocks too

  • Glenn Danzig wants a bigger butt plug.

  • the danzig version i think is better

  • The lyrics are the same on the Danzig version?

  • The misfits & Samhain are awesome Danzigs stuff more recent stuff is just nothing compared hate the shit he makes now to slow for my liking.
