I really don't blame Billy Corgan for being angry and bitter about the way people acted towards Adore. Billy had just lost his mother and his wife had divorced him. He put all of these emotions into Adore , and the fans acted like they didn't care about him at all and they acted like they wanted him to just release a rehash of Siamese Dream. I love The Smashing Pumpkins, but sometimes fans of The Smashing Pumpkins are just obnoxious asses.

How good are they??? Capable of 100 different arrangements of each song they have, masters of live performance. I love you guys forever!
Each new album they make overtakes the previous as my favourite, but the problem I have now is choosing which one really is the best - i don't think anyone can. Fan since Siamese, fell in love with MCIS but Adore blew me away then Machina expanded my spiritual thinking and now zeitgeist challenges me about the world.
Genius. Pure Genius.

It seems that Billy was extremely bitter about the amount of recognition Adore received. The album was pretty much critically acclaimed, but it was such a shame that a lot of the 'fans' didn't really get it.
It is without a doubt one of Corgan's best works. The lyrics and song compositions are absolutely fantastic - the Pumpkins needed to do a more stripped down, personal album, and this was perfectly done.
Imagine what they would be doing now if it sold really well though...
