@TheBarghest EXACTLY. That is exactly what I was referring to. There were many additions to this act. Washington made a loophole for himself. He said people couldn't own the same slave for more than 6 weeks at a time and then found a way around his own law so he could try to keep Oney.

Heh. The best teachers of History are the ones who stress the general idea behind things and not necessarily the dates of important events. Fortunately I had most of those teacher-peoples. Anyone can memorize a timeline, the importance of history lies in knowing what caused events and how those affected future ones. Unfortunately Wikipedia is quickly reducing everyone to soundbites of history and not all the details of it, which makes me sad. Yes I am also a little drunk right now.
