I wrote this poem for an English class too, but it was for my senior English class. It is not my best poem, but I like what it was inspired by, so it is my favorite. I hope you like the video. Here is the poem:

Ode to my Annabelle Doll

A doll in a coffin shaped box spends every day alone.
She has red and black eyes, and skin white as snow.
Her face has a slight smile, but the reason is not known.
She has very long legs that the box does not show.
On her, she wears a tattered white dress.
It has three buttons, the lowest is crooked.
She has light purple hair. It is never a mess,
and that is because she is kept in her coffin-like bed.

As I look at her I start to wonder.
She is a strange doll, but that makes her cool.
I do not expect a response to the questions I ask her.
Believing that she could talk would make me a fool.
I know her name. On the box it says "Annabelle".
China, like many things, is where she was made,
but those things from the box are easy to tell.
The fist thing I ask her is why she cost the price that I paid.
I ask if she feels cooped up in her box.
Also, I ask if she can feel pain.
I ask if she knows why they changed the look of her socks.
Compared to the picture she was based on, they look very plain.

To my surprise, she did seem to give a reply!
This was stranger than seeing bread that was canned.
She did not speak, but used her face to imply:
My price is the result of supply and demand.
I understand that I am a doll that belongs in a box.
Neither physically nor emotionally can I feel pain.
I do not know why you are so concerned with my socks.
You seem to be a perfectionist that likes to complain.

Note: The doll in this video is based on the character "Annabelle" from "Nightmares and Fairytales" by Serena Valentino and FSC, and published by SLG. It served as the inspiration for my poem.
