It's time that family court judges and child welfare social workers realized that for the best interest of a child, that all children need both parents to develop in a healthy and stable manner.

It's about the money guys. The court likes to name the mother as the custodial parent and the the father as the non, because the non custodial parent has to pay the child support - and pay it through the system. Most men still make more than women, so higher $ amts can be set. The more $ the States collect, the more $ they get from the Fed Gov in rebates - 60% of every dollar. It's a corrupt system based on illegal taxation - corrupt from beginning to end.

I watched this film in the mid 80's-alone-it made me cry sometimes a little too hard considering I was only 19.

@macpduff Are you retarded? Pay what thru the system? I pay child support and the amount set by the courts that I pay goes directly my son's mother. How exactly is the government making money on this besides the fact that I had to setup the arrangement in court proceedings which ofcourse costs money. Its the process where money goes to the system, not the child support itself.

Wow, even 32 years ago American men were reduced to virtually BEGGING females to not ruin the bonds between the father and child. This is one area that I envy Arab fathers. Their culture doesn't allow females that inordinate amount of influence over the lives of men.

and if women actually expressed this amount of concern (and a conscience), there would be A LOT less men out their getting screwed by Family Court by child support

For a lot of women they would ask "Whats a conscience?"

The child needs BOTH parents, period.

In most of the cases there is not better or worse parent.

and there is a higher chance the child grows up to be a delinquent if only raised by one parent.

Family court avoids shared parenting like the plague so they can pin child support orders.

@crypter27 Yes, I agree, and today's women now know how to play into those biases and manipulate the system. There are VERY VERY few women in custody battles that would not take advantage of it, or even go so far as to suggest the system is to blame. The entire process favours them...AND THEY USE IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE.
