A German WWII vertical take off and landing interceptor design. Animation of the aircraft on a mission to shoot down US bombers. Don't want to hear any more about torque, or how hard to control it would have been. It doesn't matter, it was never built!!!

  • Nice little animation. Good work!

  • @Aryachari. Thanks! Glad you like it.

  • how do you land

  • @ryannewman4life1. Simple, you point the nose towards the sky and look over your shoulder as you throttle down. The trick is not to allow the ring of fire to distract you. When your wheels touch the ground your are done. Piece of cake!!!

  • I believe this thing would spind around his own achsle, just like the helicopter from leonardo davinci..

  • @wulfman1887. I guess we will never know, besides, there would have been no torque because the thrust was in the wingtips, not the axis of the rotating wing.

  • heyy this was in Capt America!

  • I do not see a pair of counter-rotating wings. How could the body and cockpit avoid the rotation in the opposite direction, a normal reaction to the wings revolving?

Maybe that is why the project was not even considered for a prototype.

  • Germans.. always outmaneuvered by their own ingenuity

  • Actually, this could have worked had someone put a motor that would have revolved the body of the aircraft in the opposite direction of the torque effect, countering it. Either that or a ridiculously powerful gyroscope.

  • Nice .....

  • Heil Hitler.

  • WENN DAS HITLER NOCH GESEHEN HÄTTE

  • @wulfman1887 unless there was absolutly no friction between the rotar and the body like magnet berrings or something the rotation would be transferd to lift from the wings. Was a silly design, they had much better like the "bell" vril engine this was proberly propaganda for the yanks.
