Normally solid chemicals do not react. Due to the high humidity of Singapore of more than 80% the white solid potassium iodide reacted with the white solid lead (II) nitrate - giving bright yellow lead (II) iodide.

  • It is ok as PbI2 is insolubl, hence the lead 2+ ions will not get onto her hands .....:-)
