Major leaders do not make mistakes. We are all human. Even Ted Haggard, a respected Evangelical leader, had to deal with a sinful past in front of his congregation. There aren't many "church scandals"....

(which doesn't mean that I don't have any questions and doubts!!!) I don't expect you to become a Moon-Fan but I really ask you to repect my beliefe as a belief and not merely as a cult! Of course you can go on like before but you should know that what you say can be quite discriminating and offending! As long as you didn't have any contact with our movement, it would be kind, if you wouldn't judge like this (if you had contact before, don't feel spoken to!) :) looking forward to a respond!

Please don't get me wrong! I don't want to attack anyone - I guess I would think in the same way about moon if i'd only knew what the news and sect "experts" say! I'm just curious!---my question to your answer, btw, is: yes! still i'd believe in the teaching! I had to deal with countless prejudices concerning rev. moon and OF COURSE they also brought doubts about him.. but I couldn't deny the teaching and in the end I couldn't deny him!

Actually I'm also interested why you think this video is scary! it only shows a person singing a song - i wonder what you interpret into it! 2/3 of the people on the stage are not members but people from different groups and religions. if unity through music between those is scary then i do unterstand you!

Even if we ignore all past corruption - let me ask you this - If I could bring you proof today - that you could not refute - that Moon was abusive, financially corrupt, sexually corrupt and most of all a sinner - would you ever question the teachings you have received from him. If you can't answer yes to this completely hypothetical question - than it seems to me that brainwashing is a definite possibility.

I still stand by my point - most churches do not have scandals. Even in the Catholic Church where scandals have abounded, most individual priests and churchs are free from corruption. Its not OK to say that scandals happen everywhere and just accept them. If the Catholic church had just ignored the problems it has gone through, the parisioners would have left in droves. Leaders who are corrupt should be removed. There is evidence that Moon is corrupt, lots of it.

We actually get a lot done. Believe it or not. We've built schools and hospitals internationally, for third world countries as well as respected institutes. We've helped bring down communism, and have done service work in more than 80 countries. We've set up communities internationally....

No, a lot of church have corruptions. Most Christian churches have scandals. I know of two local Catholic churches with molestation scandal, as well as a Pentecostal one that had a molestation scandal. And the leader of another local stepped down because he was getting a divorce. It happens. We're human. Satan attacks and our fallen nature kicks in.

I used the term "sold" in quotes "" because I meant it figuratively. The fact that you think every religious organization has some corruption in it is sure proof that you are in a cult. There are corrupt individuals everywhere, yes. However, only very few "religious organizations" have corrupt leaders. Also - no one is ever forced to give money, even in the worst cults - people are convinced to do so because they believe they are doing good.

"Sold?" To join it doesn't cost money. You do tithe, but it's an option. You are never forced to give money, unless your personal church or personal leader is corrupt. Every religious group has some corruption.

It's not like we put all our money into this. The first generation had been revolutionaries and did give up everything in hopes of dreams of peace. They dispersed throughout the world, set up schools and hospitals in Africa, hospitals in Korea and Japan, churches internationally, set up communities internationally, started a strong movement against communist as well as strong political groups that eventually tore down the wall.

I don't doubt that - also, in terms of personal danger scientology is much worse than the UC (as far as I know). The fact that you can't see why is also scary. Cult members have a euphoria that overshadows their public demeanor and it's terrifying. Although it's one of the most difficult aspects of cult behavior to nail down and describe, it's one of the most obvious. Perhaps it has something to do with public humiliation and the joy that comes from willingly subjecting oneself to it. BTW, I may be dumb, but how smart can you be if you follow "Reverend" Moon? That's literally a "no-brainer."
