  • blandry24,

congratulations on your recovery at this point. My wife was diagnosed with GBS on November 4. She started with symptoms on Sunday and by Tuesday morning, she was in a wheelchair. Upon entering the Emergency Department, the Neurologist diagnosed and had her started on plasmapheresis within two hours

  • I'm happy to hear about your wife. It really makes a difference when they can diagnose and treat so quickly. We also had started treatment within 4 hours and now about a month later she's out of rehab and walking around home. I hope rehab is going (went?) well and wish you good luck on the rest of her recovery.

  • Diagnosed on July 4th, 2010 while I was at AIT at Goodfellow AFB and currently back home doing rehab. Walking but with minor balance issues and pain after walking for an extended period of time. Stairs are still an issue, going down them more than going up. Also don't know whether or not the Army will let me come back after getting GBS.

  • Inspirational! My mom is in week 3-4 of GBS, triggered by her spinal surgery last month. Still intubated but making small improvements every day. For a family full of Type A "fixer" personalities, patience is the hardest thing to come by. She went from recovering from surgery - walking, eating - to nearly 100% disabled and on life support in 4 days.

  • I remember my first time home with a day pass... "Fully" recovered, 9 years later still struggling with the stairs. It changed my life. Good luck to you, very nice video, you seem to be in very positive spirits and that is key.

  • I was diagnosed with GBS on 4/28/09 and I'm now at home rehabbing. Your videos are a good inspiration to everyone that has GBS to believe and hope you can recover.

  • I remember going through this just 1 year ago!!!! When I became ill I was so scared because I am very active and I use to run Cross Country. But with the love and support of friends and family and everyone from my school I was able to make a quick recovery. My Physcial Therapists were so amazing too, I owe they everything, if it were not for them pushing me to work hard I may not be where I am today.

Congrats to you and I wish you the best of Luck!! :)

    Peace
