I'm sorry I haven't updated. I've just been busy, and I'm still going nuts. Only a month left until school starts again. Can someone please tell me where all the time went?! Geez. Okay, so. I have another part written, so it really depends on you guys whether I post another one today or not! :D

15+ comments, please. I hope.

To be honest I thought the whole amusement park date would be a complete disaster, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out otherwise. The weather was really nice; a painted bright blue sky with puffs of white cotton floating about. There was also a slight breeze that smelled of faint autumn. I was afraid that I would get all hot and sweaty during the date since we'd be walking around, but I stayed rather decent-looking the whole time. My curls stayed in place and my makeup also didn't smudge. That's what I call a success.

"What are you thinking about?" Lucas asks with a cute boyish smile, his eyes fixated on me.

"Nothing," I brush off with a subtle smile, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"This is a pretty killer view," I continue, staring down at the multitude of rides and people below me.

"Well, that's what the Ferris wheel is for." He says, leisurely tousling his short brown hair. As the sun's light shines on him from an angle, his dark brown eyes ignite with majestic gold and fiery embers. Oh, this is quite dangerous, I think. I shouldn't look into his eyes so much, or I'll really swoon over him.

"I'm pretty exhausted," I sigh tiredly, concealing a faint yawn. "Today was unexpectedly fun." I tease with a taunting smile.

"If you're tired, you could come sit next to me and borrow my shoulder." He smiles with a mischievous gleam in his eye as he pats his shoulder.

"I don't think—" I pause for a moment. With a flirtatious grin on my face, I nod gently. "Can I?" I can't wait for his reaction.

"Sure—wait, what?" His eyes grow wide with surprise; I guess he can't believe I actually agreed to his offer. His cheeks flush into a faint pink, and he immediately adds. "I was just kidding, Lucy. Plus, if you move over here, this thing might wobble and it'll be dangerous . . ."

I stifle a giggle. That's his idea of a legitimate excuse. I am really tired though, and I wouldn't mind leaning on his shoulder. "Then, you can come over here." I smile, scooting to the side, so there's more room beside me.

He gulps and licks his lips nervously. With a small nod, he shifts his body, finding his place right beside me. Immediately, I can feel a difference in the atmosphere; Lucas radiates a really warm and protective aura.

"Thank you," I whisper softly before resting my head on his shoulder and closing my eyes. This kind of feeling . . . I never want to let it go.
. . . . . . .

"I'll see you school." Lucas states as he stares intensely into my eyes; his gaze is so concentrated that I can't help but feel myself blush, as if a fire's been ignited into the pit of my stomach. The feeling's strangely uncomfortable yet addicting.

"Lucy, I—"

"I—"

We both speak at the same time and awkwardly pause at the same time, leaving us both in an uncomfortable silence. I'm not really fond of awkward moments with people, so I decide to loosen up the tension in the atmosphere.

"Hey Lucas, do you know how much a polar bear weighs?"

"What?" He asks, completely bewildered.

"Enough to break the ice," I state confidently before stifling a thunderous laugh. That line is seriously gold, I think. Whoever thought of it is a complete genius.

"That was really lame." Lucas says bluntly with a straight face. However, I can tell his lips are itching to smile. Finally, he cracks; he shakes his head as he laughs, while his shoulders rise up and down to the rhythm of his laughter. "That was REALLY lame."

"Rude." I pout, crossing my arms against my chest. I thought it was a rather good one.

"I really enjoyed today's date." He says with such an earnest smile I can feel my heart melting. "Thanks." He adds in a soft whisper before pecking me softly on the cheek.

I stand there dumbfounded as he walks away, but more than anything, I feel disappointment. He should have kissed me on the lips.
