I agree 100% with you, except for your next to last sentence. I think a stacked Supreme Court and a Governor brother willing to thwart the law to get you elected, as well as having the manufacturer of the electronic voting machines in your pocket had even more to do with his ability to steal two elections than his playing the "I love Jesus" card. That just does not make any sense. You don't become athiest because you are trying to win a popularity contest in this country. And I sure dont have a motive to disbelieve in a god. It just doesnt makes sense to me logically. I am not saying there isn't some positive outcomes from religion but i think there are too many negatives to ignore. Like argos said, there are other sources of inspiration for morality and emotional support.

If you want the strength to keep going on, look to your friends and family. That's what makes them your loved ones. When people reach out to me for support, I help them, not because "God" wants me to, but because I care about them and their well-being. I don't think it's "cool to be an Atheist", I am because it's the only way I can live.

I'm agnostic/atheist because I really don't know if there is a real God, and if there is, it's probably nothing like religion paints it to be anyway. its sad that its cool to be an atheist nowadays. having a faith in God, not just Jesus Christ, really helps a person through life. I could not see myself ever living without God.
