  • I love rthdrld. It's great. Truely awesome tech.

What song did you use BTW? I love it.

  • Pelican - [untitled]

(track 5 off their album 'Australasia')

  • It's insane what can be done now, but I have real problems with the whores that wont play a game if it doesn't have all this crap in it, and complain and upgrade all the time. It's an addiction, not a hobby.

  • I agree with you, but the problem with many modern games is that they base alot of gameplay mechanics, storyline and atmosphere around these "advanced" graphics/physics so if you don't have at least a midrange gaming PC spec, your missing out quite alot. Its a worrying trend and I can only see it getting worse. For example, Ghost Recon Advance Warrior was completely unplayable untill I upgraded my PC.

  • There is. Play Crysis

  • Games don´t use this HDR that even runs with ps 2.0 cards (you need a ps 3.0 card for better performance and to see all the effects) because is very heavy even for the high end PC of today so they use a similar and less heavy HDR called fp16 HDR that was invented by ILM (Industry light and magic) and only works in ps 3.0/4.0 cards because they support FP16/32 numbers ps 2.0 cards don't.

has it? A GTX 480 gets 29 fps in Metro 2033, thats a $500 video card, it gets 80 fps in far cry 2.

You'd need 3 GTX 480 cards to run metro smoothly in 3D. Then a 4+ GHz quad core would be the bottleneck.

I want to play that in 3D.. (and full HD, maxed out with DX11) so I'm hoping I can do that properly when I get 2 GTX480 cards, overclock them and maybe add an extra dedicated physX card :D

    Worrying trend? NO! Awesome trend!

  • @titaniumx3 well that trend has certainly died now, three years later. Now its all about making EASY GAMES :D

  • i loved the lens flare at the first HDR

  • Well if you stare at the sun for too long.

  • Not if you believe otherwise. But I'm afraid this is a lot like the pearls in the video.

  • It is is also eyesight taking.

  • no...

  • I don't think they do, not with the level of complexity that rthdribl can do, not even Crysis have a HDR so complex.

  • project gotham racing 3 and 4 on xbox 360 uses this HDR

  • But then you add polygons and physics and texture into that... and there you go frame rate slump GTA IV land.
