After a suddenly turbulent episode in his political career, Prime Minister Raila Odinga is set for a highly symbolic tour of the political heartland of his coalition counterpart president Mwai Kibaki. Ahead of tomorrows(Saturday) tour, the Prime Minister paid an equally symbolic visit to his one time close ally and central Kenya political maestro Kenneth Matiba at his home outside Nairobi. And as Dennis Onsarigo reports, the Premier's tour is seen as an attempt to make inroads in a province that overwhelmingly voted against him just over two years ago.

  • Raila and Matiba were both detained without trial by Moi and were both robbed of their Election victories by Moi and Kibaki respectively.

  • Nice too see the great man again, Matiba is a legend. We all know Matiba is a political heavy weight in central Kenya, something that Uhuru can only dream of.

  • wow, dude, so mature, well i'll talk to you some more when and if you grow up. And just try and grow a sense of humor together with a pair will you?

  • unfortunately, when ths guys were fighting for democracy, kenyans who are thirty seven years and below were still in school. so, most of them dont understand why matiba looks like a 'sick' person. matiba is a hero. Kibaki amulenge asimulenge

  • I miss Matiba. Raila either political or not...you did a good thing visiting him. The government and many people have forgotten him. 2012 we need a unifying leader i dont care if he/she is kikuyu, luo, kalenjin, tugen or whateva juz a unifying leader.

  • @72okoths we are not sure if matiba won the election, because the opposition was divided in 92 ......and 2. dont agree with your reminding us of the 07 elections in every single comment get over it already and lets focus on 2012 and other development issues ..that complaint has now become boring and monotonous...

  • you are just plain stupid .. if you cant see how frail is.... wewe mjinga na bure kabisa...kumamako

  • "low class" I believe you.

    "...am going to sleep."

    Good; do as you're told.

  • This are facts lets not run away from them

  • @OTIENDEJAKOYUGI could you tell me what part of my statement you dont agree with? what I said is that Matiba and Raila both were detained without trial and had their victories stolen by moi and Kibaki.

  • I actually dont have time for a low class like u who has never seen nyumba ya mawe. For sure am going to sleep.

  • And if these MPs are diligently and genuinely serving their constituents, then what are they afraid of if RAO goes to their turfs??!!
