SSD+Linux=rules!!

That's amazing... I can't wait till SSDs get cheaper than hard disks, sooner or later it'll happen (unless Seagate really starts patent trolling).

What dock program is that, and what theme for the dock did you use? I'm looking to install a dock similar to that but cairo-dock seems to crash on Ubuntu Karmic alpha6.

Gnome-Do, under preferences change the appearance to docky. Enjoy. And on the comment below I meant to say "applications will load up at the same speed with only 2gigs".

Holy shit man, that's a really amp'd out rig you've got there. Too bad I've got a regular hard disk.. that boot was FAST! Nice monitor too :P
How much RAM do you have? Those large programs loaded so quickly!

the system had 4gigs when I filmed it but specifically those applications will load up at the same speed with only 4gigs. The hard drive really is doing all the hard work to start up the applications. cheap ram is already way faster then any hard drive, its just temporary memory. The hard drive cost more then all the other parts combined on that system. But ssd are getting alot cheaper. I would recommend the intel 25-m ssd hard drives to anyone.
