Kuvayi Milliye (literally the national forces) is the term used for Turkish revolutionaries (military personnel and units, people from civilian backgrounds and milita forces) who took actions within the framework of the Turkish national movement (starting with the 1918 Armistice of Mudros) and conducted the Turkish War of Independence. The strictly correct transliteration from Ottoman Turkish is Kuvva-i Milliye, although the use of Kuvayi Milliye is much more widespread today.Turkish revolutionaries (Turkish: Kuvâyi Milliye or Kuvva-i Milliye) were patriots of the Turkish national movement who rebelled against the partitioning of the Ottoman Empire by the Allies in the aftermath of the Armistice of Mudros which ended the Ottoman Empire's participation in World War I; and against the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920, which was signed by the Ottoman government and partitioned Anatolia.
