@Maiku2010 Did they say to come back in two years? or that the waiting list is two years? The medical community generally says you can't get hormones until you've crosslived for a year, or even two. You can just pick an MD that has some sensitivity to the gay community (and therefore knowledge)... and tell him you want hormones and get can monitor you with blood tests now and then. They like the responsibility idea... but tell him you know people get hormones from black market. Just be smart.

to anyone reading this: does anyone know of any palces other than sherbourne where i can get hormone therapy? i called sherbourne and their waiting list is a very frustrating 2 years. i cant possibly wait 2 years; ill go insane counting the days, like a prisoner waiting for the end to come save him from his misrable existance.

Unfortunately you can't get your gender changed on your health card or birth certificate without a letter from a surgeon, stating that you have had SRS. I was actually told this directly from a Service Ontario clerk, when I went to get my name and picture changed on my OHIP card.
You can however have your gender changed on your drivers license, as long as you can provide a letter from a therapist or doctor, stating that you are transitioning.

A trans woman who hasn't had genital surgery (and there are many reasons not to, including medical, financial or personal) can still identify as a woman, live as a woman, go on hormones, change her name, and change the sex on her Ontario driver's license. She might be able to change her passport too, and her OHIP card, but not her birth certificate. There isn't a lot of consistency in policy on identity docs, though most people have much more consistency in their own identities. :-)

Hi @ddevilxdude
Yes, there is such a thing as a woman with a "penis," though she might not think of her own body in those terms (or she might, depends on the person).
(comment too long, so posting more in second comment)

An interesting topic has come up recently among myself and my friends....
How do you determine the gender of a transexual or more specifically, is there such thing as a women with a penis?
Or is that REALLY considered to be a man still?
I live in Ontario Canada and am having a hard time finding this stuff in relation to Canadian/Ontario law.
Can anyone help me put here?

Ah, I wish I could take this survey. XD I love surveys.
It's an awesome project. I'm really curious as to the information they'll gather from this.
