This is my tribute to Prehistoric Forest, a dinosaur-themed roadside attraction in the Irish Hills of Onsted, Michigan. The park was once wildly popular, but has been closed since 1999. All the original dinosaurs remain, flaky and crumbling, waiting for their return to glory. The park is currently on the market for a cool $548,000.
Prehistoric Forest as well as other attractions nearby were being auctioned off as of 2010/2011. There are other old attractions as well in Irish Hills incuding a presidential train caboose that when visited this year someone had decorated and made up for Halloween. It is truly sad how theese attractions have been left to crumble. Vandalism is also a serios issue which needs address.
ps- There also is a building out front which used to have a wonderful arcade inside of it with a Big Bertha. : 3

I've been interested in abandoned theme parks for awhile, and this one is one of my favorites. This is a pretty good video... I haven't seen most of those statues. They're kind of terrifying, but cool to see nonetheless.

I grew up in Onsted and as far as I got was the gift shop. Parents wouldnt spring for the entrance fee. I did go through Mystery Hill though. I had to move away due to the job, but I miss my Michigan home!

It's too bad that its left this way. I never knew it was there or my parents never took me there. Lived in Michigan all my life and didn't know it was there. This was a very nice presentation. I suppose its not open to the public to look around it. It would be nice to see in person.

Whenever we went to Wamplers Lake I would make my parents stop by the Prehistoric Forest. They hated it because it was so crappy and cheesy but I loved it!

Make's me want to cry. I loved this place as a kid growing up in Adrian. I liked it best when you got off the tram and walked through the forest looking at all of the Dino's. You could press a button on a box and a speaker would tell you about the Dino you were looking at. One year they had college girls dressed up like cave women with spears. I made the misstake of asking one how much she got paid to do this and she gabbed me so hard with the spear I was black and blue for weeks. Thanks 4 post!
