@Jdwg1972 ....to talk about, or even think it, let alone display it on a public forum....but for way too long we've been living high on the Hog (I'll just speak for us down here) to the detriment (and rancor) of our residents. Honestly, I think we need to just step away from all this political BS...Right OR Left....and start rebuilding what we've lost with the public and the communities we serve. Let them know (or even just believe) that we're in this for more than just pay.

@AloeVera44 There are exceptions and rarities everywhere. Hollywood is highly affluent, comparitively speaking. I've never heard of such high pensions. But, DROP's are not offered for every bargaining unit. Most firefighters in the U.S make somewhere between $24-76K a year, depending, of course, on the location. If they do a full 30 years of service, they can collect 90% of their salary. Do the math, considering most FF's don't do 30 years, no one can take a beating that long.

I know.....I WORK for the Department and we're now getting FUCKED by our DEMOCRAT mayor and commission that we helped elect!!!! Why? Because the city is tapped out from having to PAY those million dollar pensions!!! And where was the IAFF???? NOWHERE!!!!!

Bottom line my fellow firefighters whom are blinded by ignorance...politicians...whet­her democrat or republican care about one thing and one thing only....getting REELECTED! I want you ALL to research "Hollywood Fire Department pension" and see how our democrat city officials which our very own union helped elect, have broken our Contract, gut our pension, cut our salaries 15%, removed overtime pay and demolished our DROP!!! So I don't wanna hear anymore shit about how 1 Party cares for us more!
