A timelapse I made just for fun. The game Lost Pogo Rider was only made for me to sharpen my C++ skills (because I haven't programmed for a long time) and to learn programmin in Emacs and Linux. I won't upload the game, because it is a simple GID (game in a day) with no real gameplay. But I know you like timelapses so I made this.

And yea, made in C++, SDL, OpenGL and Fmod, in somewhere 5 hours.

  • was this inspired by notchs timelapse vids? that he did for his break the tower game?

  • @Pat8u No. I was inspired by Petri Purhos timelapses and I also use his program to record these videos. It's named "Chronolapse"

  • how do you know al the codes? do you use books or anything???

  • @TheTripleTip Well I learned them through books and tutorials. But yea I know most of it by heart.

  • @RedReaper132 your a cool guy ;) but i have just still one question: how do i start developing games

its my dream and i have alot of free time???

  • @TheTripleTip You can start simple by starting to use Game Maker. It's a great tool and much more useful than people think. Or maybe Unity. And if you aiming into programming then you can start learning a language like Python or something you like and then start making games. I also have video tutorials how you start programming games in C++. But for starters GameMaker is awesome.

    Thanks

  • were did you get that screensaver it looks like something out of digimon aha

  • I don't even know how to do frame animation, where did you learn how to program in c++?

  • lol you played minecraft :D

  • @Greenadee I used Ubuntu as my first linux distro.

It's excellent for new users to get acquainted with basic linux commands. I recommend using Mint, it's based on Ubuntu but is "sleeker" and easier to navigate in my opinion. Linux in general comes with GCC and G++. It's great for programming!

  • HAHA minecraft before bed.

  • YOU'VE GOT MAD PAINT SKILLZ!, But seriously mate your shading and drawing technique is some of the best I've ever seen :)

  • lol minecraft
