not a problem glad i could help ....the surging idle i beleive to be related to temp change in the air ..what does yours idle at?they seem to like 8-900 rpms.. you can adjust it by the screw on top where the intake meets the airbox clamp ...try adjusting the idle just a bit ...good luck ...you can also try reseting it by disconnecting the negative on the battery for like 5 minutes and that might help also

my dads does the same thing, started at 300000km, he now has 600000km on it, sound is normal.my dads a mechanic he says engines are going to make noise, especially used ones, don't be paranoid, only worry when engine ain't running, if not broke don't fix it or worry about it

fuel pressure regulator, if you put your hand on it you can feel clicking. Your fine i have 1990 with 3.0 it does the same

Two sounds I noticed were loose tappets and a knock, sounds like a spark knock not bearings to me. I've got a 1990 3.0 in my motorhome and it doesn't sound the same.

what your hearing is your fuel injectors ...i have a 3.0 with only 93,000 miles
it only gets noisy when warmed up completely ....when it happens put your finger on the fuel pressure regulator and you can feel the tappet .....then take a stethascope and place on your injector rail.. completely par for the course ....a noisy runner

@7172971729 Thanks for the info. Another thing that happens at times, when the motor is good and warmed up after driving a few miles, when coming to a stop and idling, the motor rpm tends to oscillate up and down in two to three second cycles. Any idea?
