allen ludden actually said so long see you soon i hope on the last oringal password in 1967 and they did return in 1971 its been on gsn

I am surprised too that there was no long good-bye. There have shows that were on for a shorter length of time that had a long good-bye (Now you see it, Trivia Trap, Time Machine, Your Number's Up). So, my only conclusion is that this show might have been on the fence when it was cancelled.
