When I first saw this video on youtube, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcC511NH5LU , I was quite impressed. I went about seeking out a higher resolution version for download, and eventually found it.

I also found that some Japanese kid had tried to 'remake' the video by throwing still manga images on top of it. Not only were they not nearly as good as the original video, but they covered the original video pieces up, degrading the piece.

I decided that their idea of remaking it was terrible, but that if one /were/ to remake or remaster it, I would do this, or that. And so the idea came. This is essentially the original video, with the blank, text-only scenes given a little animated boost.

I also subtitled Archer and Shirou's lines, for the benefit of any others who don't speak Japanese. Finally, I made sure it was widescreen, not letterboxed, now that youtube supports it. This should, hopefully, be a better view than the first youtube version.

I believe it was confirmed not so long ago by the creators that Archer came from the not-produced Ilya route. Thus, no Shirou from the known routes can actually become Counter Guardian EMIYA, as the very presence of Archer, in a way kin to quantum observation, renders the possibility null.

@AzureFayt Archer is the product of Shirou fervently pursuing his ideal of being a "super hero". UBW has the second lowest chance of Shirou ending up as Archer because Rin is guiding him so he doesn't end up like Archer. HF has the lowest because he completely threw away his ideal to protect Sakura. Also he got a DOLL body which can die.

But hey, who knows with Nasu the master of vague? According to typemoon wikia pretty much ANYTHING can become a heroic spirit

@VindicAlpha not entirely correct. Nasu stated that there is a 20% chance that the Shirou of the Fate route becomes EMIYA.

in case anyone is interested, this is one of the openings to Shakugan no Shana, I think it's the 2nd opener. Awesome anime if you haven't seen it, with the same voice actor for the main heroine for Zero no Tsukaima and Toradora! - also outstanding animes as well

@LeonGun8 Btw, by merging with the first one I meant the first EMIYA that resides in the Throne, not the copy that the Grail summons. Obviously the actual Archer from the series will merely vanish after the war, which is why Heroic Spirits have no concrete memories after death and any pseudo memories are just records kept in the Throne of Heroes.

@vc180191 This pretty much. It actually creates the plothole of what exactly happens if an Emiya Shirou who met his own Future self also becomes a Heroic Spirit. Does it merge with the first one? Does it create an alternate EMIYA? Parallel time-lines can be quite confusing, especially since the very existence of Archer in Shirou's time already makes it a different timeline.
