60$ ROOT CANAL in Russia Socialized Health Care

Had a tooth that was killing me so i went to the Dentist in Russia. I paid 60 dollars for the whole root canal and filling. The socialized health care in Russia has set the market value of a Root Canal very low.

Your right don't pay the scam-artists in America if you don't want to. But don't think it will get better if you socialize it. Let the market work prices would drop. I'll make a video soon explaining how my whole trip to Russia is paid for by just what i saved in Dental costs.

Compare with Estonia, and you'll see that 60 is quite appropriate price.

Recently, I've searched for prices in USA for an appendectomy and found a few reports, Prices were beyond reasonable doubt higher than in Germany or UK.

But if they filled your tooth with Resorcinol-Formaldehyde Resin, instead of Gutta-percha - immediately find endodontist.

funny.... dont forget.... the average russian only makes a little over 500.00 US a month.... so 60 bucks is quite expensive.... plus, he only had the canal done... its the crown that costs all the money! This video is a little deceiving....

I've seen Russian hospitals in person and they may very well be completely competent and safe, but they looked drab and depressing. I do hate the way American hospitals and dental care can be at times but I wouldn't want to end up in a Russian hospital or dentist office just for the sake of money.

60$ is a good price but it you were Russian living on a Russian salary that would be a good bit of money. It is interesting how the prices differ but I love my dentist and I feel he deserves what I pay him.

You mention that in no way are you in favour of socilaised medicine or dentistry, as if it is communist and evil to simply have different priorities as a nation, and to make sure that people do not go bankrupt if health care is needed happens to be the priority in MANY countries outside the USA, ...USA would rather spend on defence and not on it's citizens well being, that is a choice that USA has made then. Just because it is DIFFERENT from the way things are done in the USA, it isn't wrong!
