On extreme makeover home edition one time they tied wood to the back of their truck and then drove it across a gravel road to make it look old and worn. I don't know if that works for that kind of wood tho.

If you want to make things look old, you should talk to my Dad... he's really into the primitive, 1800's style of living, and makes some of his own furniture look right from the war of 1812.
