@Shelver92 The key difference is that one is a journalist and the other is a freaking senator. You should demand a proper behaviour from a guy who is representing you, but not from a journalist. A journalist has every right to be a bad person, a politician has not. In fact, a journalist, even if he is a bad person, has every right to expect that politicians behave, and to bash them if they don't. And trust me, I'm Italian, I know everything about misbehaving politicians!

You dont have to please everyone to be popular. I think Letterman is a great example of that. In fact - if he only "pleased" 10 percent of that adult American population, he would still be popular enough for a prime time tv show..... and make millions....!!!
