@atruthinalie probably not but if they give you it why not use the new one

is the replacement gasket ESSENTIAL to use?
-
what does turning it either the soft or hard direction do?
which one gives more noise and what the purpose?

I got my bov figured out. The bottom part (where the 2 bolts are) was adjustable. The new kompact plumb back bov sounds great!

@Turbosmart66 Thanks, but I resolved the issue long time ago. I don't even have that bov anymore.

@Turbosmart66 It is a first gen MS3. The problem is the large tube isn't at a 90 degree angle like the stock one. Not sure if it is adjustable from the inside. do u know?

@donightwolfdo youtube doesn't allow posting email addresses - but you can get the sales email address from the turbosmart website. Also - try the Turbosmart technical forum.
Turning the cap changes the spring tension NOT the noise the valve makes. It is used to tune the valve to your engine.

I just bought the new turbosmart plumb back Kompact series. Said it was for mazdaspeed 3's but it didn't fit! Gonna have to buy a new house or a different bov :( hopefully they give me free replacement.

@lujoebonjo The current series Mazdaspeed required a different valve from the previous one, you might have bought an incorrect valve. Take it back to your dealer and have it replaced. See the turbosmartonline website - model specific bov or the kompact series section. See which bov will fit your car.

So if installing on a bone stock CX7 (with no tune) itd be better off to get a BPV rather than a BOV to prevent fluttering of the engine?

@ferrarimk13 on a car with no tune and no plans for increasing boost a BPV (Plumb Back) version is the best option.
