  • America is a joke, wouldn't live in it if y'paid me

  • I think the joke is on you. America is very far from a joke. There may be elements of America that are highly problematic, but many countries have less than perfect systems. There is a very wide demographic of persons in America and this gives America a unique position.

  • @vidar808 Crap. On what you base your opinion? Where did you pick that line? From media or from experience?

  • @Htogrom I think we do an injustice to the complexity of issues by turning them black and white. Increasingly we hear the words liberal and conservative used to categorize people and ideas. It can become a bias that leads us from penetrating into other perspectives. People are complex and have many aspects that can arise in one way or another. Politicians can be fiscally conservative while at the same time pushing social liberalism or vice versa.

  • Regulation is a government scam. Deregulated any industry is subject to the desires of the customers. What the (D) guys want is government control not customer control. They need it to keep wars and stupid policies from being revealed.

  • Black Wednesday - Orwell is calling us again.

  • @gamegloss You are not alone. This monopolization of media will have no mass-conditioning function until a critical mass of Americans becomes so illiterate as to believe most everything they see/read/hear on TV or online. In fact, among younger Americans, cynicism and inherent disbelief in printed or broadcast information, a healthy skepticism, is flourishing. Those most likely to respond to broadcast information unthinkingly are people over 50.

  • @YUG74 The world is a joke mate, its all the same, regardless of where you are on the face of the planet

  • This is doubleungood,

  • I love the unfounded critiques of America in the comment section. It's nothing more than banal discourse without even worthwhile alternatives.

Half of the people making these comments aren't even aware of other factors related to the claims they are making. It doesn't sit well with me, which is why it leads me to believe you all are just a bunch of rambling nutbars with a misguided agenda.

  • Last time I was in America I actually stopped watching TV and listening to radio altogether. Even the programs that, on the surface, seem like they ought to be interesting, are tainted with what I can only describe as an anti-intellectual agenda, one that makes no effort to pretend otherwise.. How the next generation of Americans is even to discover Orwell, I do not know.

  • look at 3.52 how those cops are unnecessarily rough with the lady that sings. Why don't they just escort her normally?

  • @YUG74 you are spot on...wish i could get the fuck out of here now.
