Part 1 of 4 - Pages From A History Atlas of Saugerties, Program #6 - The Mills of Saugerties - A history of the dam, canal and water powered mills of Saugerties, New York. Created by Michael Sullivan Smith, an historic preservation commissioner with the Town of Saugerties and a landmark review board member with the Village of Saugerties. This video was created to bring an awareness of the early Industrial Revolution mills, the period of the founding of the Village and the 1825 Barclay's Canal; a landscape feature which is the last remaining intact representative of the period. The video gives a background to qualify the canal as a cultural asset and states an argument for its preservation and listing as a local, State and National landmark. It is specifically designed to educate political and regulatory decision makers and activist organizations. A .pdf compilation of period texts used as source materials for the content of this video can be found for purchase at hopefarmbooks.com by clicking this link http://www.hopefarmbooks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Cod...
I agree. The scroll started happening after the others in the series were shown without sound... eye candy. I'll stop using it for other youtube postes planned.

I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism. Please lose the scrolling text. Not only does it obscure the images, but it is distracting. I can watch the video and listen to the commentator, or I can turn off the sound and read the text, but I can't do both at the same time.
