Excellent album. I really enjoyed this overview and your personal stories about it. For some reason, I never considered the similarities between The Pogues and The Decemberists. Don't know how I missed it!

I bought the new album by the Decemberists a couple months ago (having never really heard of them) from Starbucks, purely based on the cover and song titles and haven't really been able to put it down. Also, most people who know me know I am a HUGE Pogues fan. Infact, The Pogues are the only band I've ever travelled any distance to see (Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Boston 3 times). This video was a pleasant surprise!
