You are absolutely right. Tesla has given a price on a battery replacement and it's more like to cost around $15.000.
$80.000 is way to high. Upon replacement they will dispose the old lithium battery in a correct manor which, by the time it will be necessary to do this, they will have improved this process substantially.
The Tesla is a great car. I've driven it a few times and will be receiving my/our Signature model within two weeks - amongst the first 10 cars in europe!

who ever says that whats the point of buying this car at this price. ITS not because I want to save petrol. ITS because of these greedy bastards at the petrol stations. how much does it piss you off when you only buy about $40 worth of petrol and the petrol gauge is only a quarter full and only takes you about 150km?!
