Navel Piercing has REJECTED!!! ... What to do!

This is a reply to a very popular question... What do I do when my piercing has been rejected!

If your piercing is rejected, it can be because it wasn't cleaned properly... or your body didn't want it in because... well... it just didn't want it there, or your body things the metal you put in is not suited...

When it has been rejected, you can do the following:
1) Wait until the areas has healed again get it re-pierced with a different type of metal, e.g if Sterling Silver was used... next time ask for Titanium because it has a lesser chance of being rejected by your body, also lowers the healing time... Negative: It's a little more expensive.

2) If you have a metal allergy, you can always get BioPlast or PTFE jewelery.

@MisssDaniellaa By 'rejected' it means that your body is pushing it out of your skin. The best thing to do is go to a piercer and let them take it out if you feel it is being rejected, because it could not be and it could just be a false alarm, but if it is then they can clean the area and take it out correctly to minimize any bacteria entering the wound. If a piercing is noticeably rejecting, taking it out early will minimize scarring. x

so it rejects in 2-3 days or can it reject slowly? like 2-3 months? coz i've had mine for about 3 and a half months and its a little loosey and i can see a lot more bar now.. does it reject or it just moved and will stay there now? plsss help, i really want this piercing =/

@Nanulla186 It all depends on the person because everyone is different. For example I had my Daith pierced for a little while, and one day it looks like it was being rejected - Within 24 hour it was rejected out of my ear. At the same thing however, when a piercing is healed, more of the bar is shown because the swelling has down down and you then change to a shorter bar. If you have any concern then go back to the piercer and they can have a look at it! x

Hay, umm I got mine done with a stainless steel bar and it was red straight after she pierced it and after 2 months I could tell it was coming out and I just let it fall out in like the 3rd month. And I got mine done about a month ago with stainless steel again they did it behind the scar and it is turning out good, (:

@twilightmaniac717 im 13 and mines been fine i had mine done in march 2011 for my birthday and everything seems fine!(i hope) i have lost weight since the room inbetween my bar has changed a little, but thats gonna happen whether your 13 or 30, so yeah go for it!, i love mine!

@hurtinginside1 its normal to feel it throguh the skin seeing how it's not that deep in. don't worry, it's not rejected thats how mine is too ^^
