Pan Am Southern westbound intermodal Greenfield MA to Mechanicville NY

Follow AYMO (Ayer MA to Mohawk yard NY) through the snow along Pan Am's Southern's west end. This train was held in East Deerfield yard over the holidays, and departed in the early morning on it's 4 hour trip west.

Ah Hooville, 2:25; I have a lot of memories with my father and brother of watching and chasing trains, growing up when we visited the grandparents, lead by B&M GP-9's. We'd hear them coming west and catch them at the same location then follow them to Eagle Bridge or Johnsonville, sometimes all the way to Mechanicsville. The good ol days.

I have to say there is no better sound than the rumbling of working EMD's prime movers and the wherrr of their turbo chargers i.e.;00:24;1:36;3:19;4: P.S. The Horns are great too!

Is this going to be an entirely new train? Where's it going to come from, East Deerfield or someplace west of that/east of Lowell?

PAR Power almost always is on the head end, however starting January 8 NS is dedicating a train solely to Ayer Traffic, with NS power running the entire trip to Ayer.
