Perhaps the US military could stop invading countries and blowing up their infrastructure. That would be a good environmental move.

No, it's really not that simple if they can just pull the money from somewhere else, like the social safety net. Simply seeing the context of a situation is not paranoia. And Pakistan has already stood up to the US in varous ways, for example when they temporarily shut down some supply lines after NATO/US helicopter gunships "mistakenly" killed a couple dozen or so Pakistani soldiers on the border. I never said it was a bad idea, I just said we need to make sure it gets used for better purposes

This news is so much win because when the military researches something, it always ends up helping everyone. The atom bomb gave us nuclear power, they gave us the internet and now they're going to develop renewable energy. I wouldn't be surprised if the military gave us cars powered by cold fusion.
