@benjsinister honestly, its not as perfect and pure a vibrato as normal but you have to remember that when she was singing this her father was being buried in another country

@benjsinister No, you really don't know what you're talking about. Jo has, among today's sopranos, the best coloratura techniques, and that includes vibrato and trills. Blame it on the choppy quality of the video, not on Ms. Jo!

I don't listen to or sing opera or classical but I think her vibrato is too wobbly for my taste.. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

It was an amazing experience, sharing the same breathing space as Sumi Jo. I felt so humble, happy and lucky to be there. My personal favourite of the evening was 'Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio!'
However she was faultless with every breath, sound and movement, as usual!
As you probably know, she is my everything, and I too feel a deep emptiness engulfing me now that her performance has passed. We were blessed indeed!

This is superb but have you ever heard anything more beautiful than Sumi's "Si il padre perdei" at the Cadogan hall? It gives me shivers still, over a week later.

Completely in agreement with you! I rarely visit the "Paris"videos, the expression on Sumi's face and knowing the circumstances is too heart rending.
