  • Kenny Garrett is blessed by the ancestors, he listens, respects, and understands the story bring told by the story tellers . . . . Ho . . . my brother, continue on your spiritual path

  • Why go on about mouthpeices? His tone is coming from him, no matter what set up he uses, man, he will still sound as beautiful as he always does.

  • Who is the piano player?

  • too good!

  • this brother is great . i love him on Miles Davis cut '' HANNIBEL '' . THANKS FOR POSTING THIS BROTHER,S MUSIC.

  • @streetscaper69 thanks for putting that into words. I've thought the same thing while listening to him. "listens, respects and understands the story."

  • Kenny Garrett: An Alto player, who doesn't sound like an 'alto player'.

That's why he's my favorite alto player. :)

  • @jeremyb1910 Elvin did it, but with a modesty. In my favourite things he is playing everywhere, but it doesn't intrude. It's also I think down to the timbre he selected. I know this is down to taste. I just find Chris is not sensitive to the music. I feel like he's listened mostly to hip hop and funk, but not really listened to music with more dynamics. Kenny's such a great player - I'd like to see him play with Asaf Sirkis.

  • @flybynight420 Yeah, but if you listen to Elvin Jones, eg, he was able to fill so much space that a bass or a piano wasnt needed for some albums... For a drummer, I think it is more a quality that a downside?

  • Daaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnn

  • Chris Dave is a good player, but man does he over play. Those random open hi-hat all over the place really aren't needed. Leave space, and listen - music isn't a backing track for your self expression. Tony was busy, but he was feeling space, and one at with the group. Same with Justin Faulkner. I just never get the feeling this guy is TRULY listening.
