After traveling the world, a giant pair of Digital Origami Tigers is making its U.S. debut here at the San Francisco Zoo to commemorate the end of the Chinese Lunar Year of the Tiger and the beginning of the Year of the Hare. These monumental-sized public sculptures measure 8 feet tall, 23 feet long, and weigh 440 pounds total, and they were created using 100% recyclable materials by internationally renowned architectural firm LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture). This unique visual reminder hopes to raise awareness about the plight these beautiful, endangered animals face.
