Why isn't civil union enough?...

Personally, I don't like the sound of it and it isn't getting married and recognized as a couple in the eyes of the Lord. Everyone is always talking about having a white wedding and looks forward to having traditional things such as best men and bridesmaids. I want to be able to look forwards to that to.

I just don't get why people think that the bible is the word of god. If you look at it in its historical and social context it is obvious that there is nothing divine about it. It is a collection of stories which has been used to teach and control the people and while there are many sound principles in the bible, there is also some really vile and hateful stuff. Get enlightened people - to take the bible literally is totally naive.

It is absolutely ridiculous, im not homophobic and i'm not christian, but it should be up to the church whether they do it or not. I would expect to be allowed to eat pork in a synagogue it is the rules of that particular religion. Grow up and get married in a registry office like other non christians.

'Marriage' should stop being so glorified in the media. I think all liberal couples, straight or gay, should have a civil union, just to stick two fingers up at religion and funamentalists. We sould all move on together. Fuck marraige.

a gay person is born with the instinct to have sex with men... the church says to control this...

other people are born with the instinct to be selfish... the church says to control this...

legally gays should have the same rights but religion is something else... if England is a Christian country then gay should not be allowed to be married.
