This is a fan song written by John Quarles (a.k.a. TheOutCrowd). It's called War Cry of a Paladin.

For those of you who have never played DragonFable, or haven't played it enough, you will be really lost listening to the lyrics. If you don't have an account, go to www.dragonfable.com and sign up.

This is about the paladin Artix (a character based off the owner of the game), whose entire life is devoted to slaying undead. He has the unique ability to sense the presence of the undead, and he knows the best way to fight each one individually.

The biggest problems in understanding this song are these terms:
Necromancer- A more commonly used term, the prefix "necro" comes from the Greek "nekr" meaning "black", and insinuating "death". The suffix comes from the Greek "manteia", meaning "to divine". So, a Necromancer basically began meaning someone who would summon spirits of the dead to predict the future, and later came to mean a manipulator of the dead's bodies.

Doomwood- A large forest where necromancers and darkness reign and the sun is never seen

Wasabi Paste- This is a reference to the Holy Wasabi Sauce Artix uses to destroy the necromantic recipe to turn ordinary food into undead warriors. It's good stuff, but if you don't have juuust the right amount, it ruins the whole thing.

Ebil Moglins- This is a reference to the Great and Mighty Emperor Zorbak. Moglins are small creatures generally characterized by their cute body, football-shaped head and large, pointed ears. Zorbak does not apply to any of these despite the fact he is a moglin, and he is known as being "ebil" because a new word had to be invented just to show how far beyond evil he was.

  • this is awkward for this song but know any training spots im a lv 13 necromancer

  • @tpmaniac1 I've found that going to the ruins (by talking to Sir Chasm and Sir Vivor in Oaklore) is a pretty good quest for leveling. The payouts get better and better while the difficulty just goes down.

  • u do know that anyone can just use google chrome to download this exact song for free at any point in time....

  • @ShiningS9 I certainly had a friggin hard time with that when I uploaded it 2 1/2 years ago. I'll edit the comment.

  • *Totally jamming to this song while slaying the undead in the necropolis. totally listening to this song even while fighting ninjas in osprey cove, how does that work? So Motivational.*

  • @max34671 I always imagined that Artix might have... embellished.. his appearance when he created the game. That's probably just projection, but it is possible.

  • @Aquarrya no artix is a real guy
