I'm not sure how anyone who teaches in a public school could watch this movie and say it's not realistic... Where do you teach because I'd like to transfer there! I think the caricatures of teachers/students portrayed in this movie are pretty great - yes, it's satire and yes, it's exaggerated (that's what a caricature is), but it easily and amusingly captures the essence of what it means to be a public school teacher. I highly recommend this movie!

i am a teacher and I thought this movie was hilarious and true. I'm not sure if you are a teacher in PUBLIC school. I teach in public school and I can assure you the comedy comes from it being so true. It was made in Austin, TX by public school teachers.

Agreed! I am less interested in it now that I know it is a comedy. but it still looks good.

yeah it was actually my teacher who showed us another video and CHALK trailer played before and said he would get it cuz it looks funny. he got it and said it was really dissapointing. didnt exactly explain why it was so bad. u mean it was.. unrealistic? possibly bad acting. idk.

@chtbjunkie62: Yeah. I remember I bought it when it was first released, and (as a teacher) I was a bit disappointed. I can't remember now what exactly I didn't like about it, but I ended up selling my copy online. It was funny... just not... real? Maybe. Not sure. I'd give it 3.5/5 stars.
