Squeaks like a mouse, grunts like a pig, hides in leaf-litter and only flies at night: Woodcock are weird birds that are seldom seen unless you know when and where to look. They are also quite tricky to film.

  • Wonderful! I am on a roding path and have never managed to catch it on film. Thans so much.

  • @Stamps9311 I don't know. I've heard the term used incorrectly for Snipe as well. Snipe drum, Woodcock rode. The term is used for the territorial display flight of the male.
