I am addicted to this melody. The soprano (alto?) has a beautiful way of expressing herself, so joyous. What a wonderful performance. I will second the motion to see the entire piece.

Schön gesungen.
Und seltsame Atmung. Nett, dass der Dirigent jeweils fast Generalpausen einlegt, aber eigentlich sind ja genau diese Endlostöne in Kombination mit Achtelpausen am Anfang die technische Herausforderung dieser Arie. Und andere Altistinnen schaffen`s ja auch in time. Nicht unbedingt bach`sche Atemführung.

Wonderful rendition by Frau Danz - love her velvety tone, smooth legatos and excellent breath control (so difficult in Bach) ! Thanks for the video upload !

Ja, auch ich finde ihren Gesang ziemlich blaß. Habe mit ihr heute das Weihnachtsoratorium in der Berliner Philharmonie unter Rilling gehört. Da war sie stimmlich noch schwächer als bei dieser Aufnahme.

Ich übe es nämlich gerade, damit ich es irgendwann einmal meinem Liebsten zum Einschlafen vorsingen kann...während sein Kopf in meinem Schoß ruht...
