@ALynnJ13 Because fieldhockey isn't played by men in the US( I know there are some teams). I said nothing about americans btw( though all the religious people in the US ARE beneath me, as are EU religious people), I just assumed you were comparing womens-hockey with icehockey(which you were).

field hockey can be brutal! yeah i suppose ice hockey is sort of dangerous with the blades and all the fights, but thats got nothing to do with the sport... the fights are just the people involved... i for one have been smacked in the face full on with a hockey ball in field hockey, so dont start about how it's 'safer'... it saved the goal tho XD lol

@ALynnJ13 Oh I just realized that you might be an American girl(judging by your name) and only watch womens hockey. Womens hockey is indeed slow(stupid) and not very dangerous, that's true.

@ALynnJ13 I'm sorry but you're wrong here. IN most competitions around the world face-masks are compulsory for icehockey players. The face was the last vulneable part(when i was little there were no rules regarding facemasks). Ive seen all kinds of broken bones on fieldhockey pitches, last time i saw a broken nose(let alone a leg) on the ice was 18 years ago. If you want dangerous watch some hurling matches, that is the last truly dangerous sport.

@ElmaFudd2 Um, no way. Field hockey is WAY safer than ice hockey. I've never seen any field hockey player lose hold of their stick and had it flying across the field like I've seen in ice hockey. Also the ice skates alone have sliced other players in the leg... if a field hockey player ran over another player, all they'd get is a nice bruise. And don't even get me started on the fighting in ice hockey...

Don't get me wrong, I like watching ice hockey, but it's not as safe as field hockey.

im gunna be a freshman this year and was thinking about doing fieldhockey and lacrosse. are they good sports? cuz i need something to do i can't come home everyday and do nothinggg.

@cub995 everyones chirps are always the same on youtube...you dont know shit about me. I am actually living on my own, got an apprenticeship and will be making $40 an hour when I'm done...and double time after 40 hours. I got many friends and work out everyday... I got it pretty good ya fuck tard. And hockey on the ice is much much better.
