http://www.olatheanimalhospital.com Sometimes it can be helpful to know what a cat in respiratory distress looks like so you know what to watch for if your cat suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) or is in heart failure. Watch his side rise up and down very rapidly. His respiratory rate is over 100 (normal is about 20-30) breaths per minute. This cat was diagnosed with HCM at 2 years of age.
