I remember this commercial, and realizing it was the guy from Write On.  I don't know when they made the change, but they're now just 'Mr. Sub'. I guess it's cheaper when making signs and ads to have a shorter name.

I'd love to see the Mr. Sub commercials where an evil sea captain tries to get his bumbling first mate Smee to infiltrate Mr. Sub and steal their "secret sauce"...it always ended in Smee inadvertantly sinking his captain's boat.

I ate in a Mr. Sub place once... on the Eastbound NY Thruway near the 87-90 split at Albany. Good subs!

I recall it also because I had a job interview, which later accepted me, in Rhode Island.
