  • hey, what kind of resistors did u put in there. like i looked up 1k resistors, some are 1/4 watt some are 1 watt....so which ones do i get??

also when u soldered the resistors on, did u fill all of the three holes where the potentiometer was?

  • i used 2-1k 1/4watt resistors. after twisting them both fit in the 3 holes vacated by the potentiometer.

  • the servos continuous CW or CCW. you need to use a servo controller or remote to move the servo.

  • no, unlike speed controllers, a hacked servo is full CW or full CCW. this is because the voltage does not change.

  • @richardpwillan yep, although you can just use two PW signals and the stop signal/width might not be exactly 1.5

  • hi ed thanks for the video! can you still control the servo with pwm waves after completing this process?

  • Hello i need to make a cotroler. I mean i need to keep the servo rotation to riginal and use the potentiometer to rotate it left or right with exact degreas of the potentiometer rotation. Can you help me witha simpli sketch? Regards.

  • много ума не нада, русские это еще в начале 90х делали на немецких машинках СИГНАЛ

  • In case an endpoint switch off functionality is needed, it might be a little more complicated than by using a 2 channel switch modul an a simple motor. Does somebody know this could be achieved with such modified servo (for both directions a break by pushing a endpoint switch (a switch for ccw and cw each of course) ?

  • Now that is really cool a very helpful! Quite often there is the need for just exactelly such a modified servo! I just tested that straight away on an old servo and it works just perfect. Many thanks for sharing this!!

  • and also can i just let the potentiometer be where it is if i just take hte wires off?

  • i cant get the gears off

  • great effort! i can't believe i found this: adafruit.com/products/154

futaba made exclusively for parallax a continuous servo.

i just ordered a few to check it out

  • @rahial786 a servo is a cleaver motor followed by a series of gears.

    definitions

clever motor: a otor what gives back feed back to the circuit bord

    where are they used?

mainly servos are used in rc toy but are also used for other things e.g pan and tilt
