Females of the parasitoid wasp Kollasmosoma sentum ovipositing in workers of the ant Cataglyphis ibericus. Recorded in slow motion video, at a rate of 300 frames per second. Madrid, August and September, 2010.

  • Hello jeromeauclair: in the last scene the oviposition of Kollasmosoma sentum takes place while 2 Cataglyphis ibericus are trying to take away a cadaver of the ant Messor barbarus. The Messor cadaver, a usual prey of C. ibericus, was tied with a thread fixed to the ground.
